Life Enrichment Manager
The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for consistently engaging residents in familiar routines of daily living through personalised Life Skills that Create Pleasant Days for residents.
Life Skills are familiar tasks that residents enjoyed doing in the past that can still bring a sense of success, meaning and purpose in the present. The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for designing Life Skills to reflect each residents past interests and for providing them with encouragement, prompts and hands on assistance.
The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for demonstrating the Mission of our client, To champion quality of life for all seniors in the Reminiscence neighborhood in accordance with federal, state and local standards, regulations of Sunrise policies to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents.

One (1) year experience required working with memory impaired seniors
High School diploma / GED accepted and may be required per state regulations; certification(s) may be required per state regulations
Ability to lead the life enrichment component of the Reminiscence program by connecting residents with Life Skills & other life enrichment activities that meet their unique preferences, abilities, & basic human needs
Ability to motivate, encourage residents; knowledge of how to adapt life skills to the cognitive and functional ability of each resident
Inspire, motivate and encourage volunteers and fellow team members to engage residents in meaningful, purposeful activities throughout the day and evening
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
Competent in organisational & time mgmt skills
Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to make responsible choices, decisions and act in a residents best interest

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Our cleint operates a number of different brands of communities for seniors. As a result, this positions area of responsibility may differ among the various brands and states. Despite the differences in responsibilities between the brands and states, the following are a core set of duties common to this position.
Essential Duties: Life Skills Program
Evaluates residents interest & involvement in Life Skill
Develops Life Skills tailored to each residents unique needs and abilities
Engages residents in Life Skills throughout the day and evening
Ensures that every resident has an opportunity to engage in Life Skills or other live enrichment activities on a daily basis
Reviews resident profile and the Individualised Service Plan (ISP) and spends time talking with residents and family members to determine the best Life Skill or life enriching activity for each resident
In partnership with the Reminiscence Coordinator (RC), ensures the Life Skill is included on the demographic profile of each resident and applies the information by being responsible for implementing, leading, motivating others in the appropriate Life Skill for the residents
Using the residents demographic profile information, organises small groups or clubs that address those similar needs and preferences in a small group/club setting
Ensures that the Life Skill is included on the socialization and leisure activities section of the ISP
Role models and encourages other team members to engage in Life Skills with residents
Assists residents to and from the Life Skills stations and other normalizing life enriching
activities and routines
Records and documents resident participation according to Sunrise quality service standards
Maintains and expands Life Skills stations and other life enriching programs and
replenishes supplies as needed
Assists in maintaining an inventory of Life Skills programming supplies
As applicable, responsible for assisting residents with daily care of any animals and/or plants as part of the Life Skills program and services
Essential Duties: Resident Focus
Reviews the ISP, Resident Profile and Demographic Profile and Addendums for every new resident
Gives input on the Demographic Profile and ISP to ensure that each resident has a personalised Life Skill listed that reflects their past interests and reflects their current abilities
Practices positive resident relations following our Sunrise Shared Values; responds to resident and family member requests and directs resident and family member feedback to immediate supervisor
Assists Reminiscence Coordinator (RC) to ensure each residents Memory Box is completed within two (2) weeks of move-in _ Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times
Essential Duties: Volunteer and Community Focus
Under the leadership of the Reminiscence Coordinator (RC) and Activities & Volunteer Coordinator (AVC), assists with and supports with local businesses, organisation and schools in the development and retention of the community volunteer programs
Assists with the volunteer orientations, volunteer training programs and appropriate volunteer paperwork according to Sunrise standards
Essential Duties: Dining Service
Serves meals in the dining room
Assists residents in Life Skills in the dining room during set up and clean up
Essential Duties: Risk Management and General Safety
Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations
Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures
Reports all accidents / incidents immediately
Reports all hazardous and unsafe conditions and equipment immediately
Ensures any cords, carts, equipment and other hazards are kept out of the way at all times, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes
As applicable, all Sunrise team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle must sign the Driver job description and understand the key essential duties for safety and regulatory compliance
Essential Duties: Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
Partners with community team to ensure community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations and Sunrise quality standards for resident care and services
Maintains and/or exceeds standards of cleanliness, hygiene, proper attire and health standards
