BioMed Central is an industry leading open access publisher that uses technology to drive its primary business functions. It is a technology innovator with a team of 35 development staff based in its office in central London and 23 based in Pune, India.
To support our continued growth in technology we require an experienced Release Manager, to assume ownership of the processes & systems that support the deployment of our business critical software to end users internally and across the globe.
We are looking for an experienced Release Manager with exceptional technical, organisational and collaboration skills. We are primarily seeking an individual with experience of release management within a fast-paced and highly dynamic Agile software development environment. This is a key role within this business and provides a critical service function to technology stakeholders.

Essential
Responsible for co-ordinating the success of each main release of software as well as any interim patches.Solid understanding of the software development and release cycle is required as is prior experience of working in a process driven environment.Good communication skills are extremely important as is the requirement to create, and also maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders - comfortable communicating with people at all levels and has the ability to gain buy in from your colleagues. Experience of release management in an Agile environment utilising SCRUM. Management reporting on all activities during the release cycle, including change management, release management, problem management, and any other reporting requirements. Strong technical background and a good grasp of how infrastructure tools and processes support the application environment.
