We are looking for a General Manager HR to join the Essex Head Office of a global manufacturing/process organisation situated in 5 countries. You will have a good broad HR background with experience of working globally at a senior level. Happy to work alone or with the executive group when your travel schedules coincide. Lots of initiatives going on at present so you will never have a dull moment.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

Operate as a strategic business partner and support to the President of the Group to drive business outcomes.

Develop, implement and track people strategies, plans and initiatives to assist in the achievement of business objectives including organization redesign and change, engagement, talent management, performance orientation, reward and recognition, labour relations and learning

Champion development and implementation of globalinitiatives throughout the business

Support the organisations commitment to zero harm through championing health and safety

Manage the overall Human Resource functionInternationally, ensuring it is modern and highly efficient and operating as visible and strategic business partners with line managers, including presence at plant and distant locations

Oversee and lead change and communications across thebusiness

Operate as a key contributor to theExecutive Team, beyond HR and change/communications

Support theExecutive team with their people issues internationally

Ensure adequate Management of Union relationships, generally working through line managers and local HR managers, whilst developing and maintaining a comprehensive labour relations strategy

Pro-active membership of HR Executive Team

POSITION DIMENSIONS:

Provides support to c850 employee base

Multiple International Locations

Indirectly Manage staff of (6)

Responsible for HR budget

Responsible for setting HR Strategy and communications/change agenda

KEY CHALLENGES:

Supporting a highly mobile head office executive group and supporting the President to build a high performing executiveteam

Developing robust workforce plans to ensure the ability to resource for difficult positions internationally

Building a succession pipeline for senior and critical technical positions including identifying High Potential Individuals and key talent and ensuring adequate development programs are in place

Driving through performance management, striving for great performance and embedding a culture of accountability and achievement within the business unit

Identifying employees who may be struggling with performance and establishing a support plan

Designing and implementing talent acquisition strategies to makean employer of choice

Undertaking reward design and restructure to drive competitive advantage in hiring and retaining employees

Effectively working with and influencing a global leadership team

Influencing senior managers and executives to adopt new ways of working and behaving

Increasing the awareness and compliance with safety

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

Relevant professionalqualifications

Substantial generalist HR leadership experience (7 to 10 years) with strong strategic change and communications capability

Demonstrated experience leading a team of HR professionals in a geographically dispersed environment

Experience working in an international organisation

Track record of leading organisational transformation in a dynamic and fluid environment

Ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships at all levels

Demonstrated ability to tap best practice thinking and external trends

Demonstrated ability to drive superior business results through improvements in recruitment, development, culture, remuneration, and performance management

negotiation experience, including use of latest on-line techniques

Demonstrated understanding and application of employment law & practice

High level interpersonal and communications skills, including counselling & coaching skills, strong written communication skills and presentation skills

Strong problem solving skills
