DS Smith Paper Limited is theUKs largest manufacturer and recycler of paper.

An opportunity has arisen at the Kemsley Paper Mill Site for a Lead Planner in the Engineering department. The job holder will be responsible for leading the engineering planning team and the team of support engineers.

This role will maintain and review the planning function across all engineering areas ensuring that planning and scheduling is undertaken to a high standard. Responsible for the allocation of Support Engineers to assist area teams with complex problem resolution.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Ensure all planning processes are as per Engineering Workflow. Documenting improvements and informing all interested parties.Ensure shutdown schedules including critical path via the planned shutdown process are produced hitting agreed milestones in the process.Maintain an overview of the work backlog across all Engineering Teams. Ensure defined workflow KPIs are produced and published e.g. schedule adherence.Lead the planning of complex tasks.

To succeed, you are likely to:

Be an experienced engineering Operational Supervisor with a broad knowledge of papermaking operations and supporting services, with a track record of delivering results.Have previous experience in similar operations or project roles, preferably gained within the paper industry or related process/packaging environments.Have excellent cost control and work planning skills.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with proven leadership capability.Innovate and accept new ideas, with the ability to drive these through your teams.
