We have a good sized business with annual sales of over 160 million and we are growing strongly. The potential in the UK market for growth in each of the product areas is significant the combined market is in excess of 3Bn p.a. There is plenty of room for continuous growth over many years.

Todays modern purchasing / engineering professionals are likely to have significant qualifications and training throughout their career that influence them to focus on 5 specific aspects of any key supplier to their business. The five key areas are:

:Cost - the purchasing professional expects Europes largest MRO distributor to be competitive across the breadth of our portfolio.

For us this is about providing tangible cost savings that will be signed off by management as evidence of how we have helped them to improve production efficiency, reduce working capital, reduce total acquisition costs and improve energy efficiency.

Doing the first four things really well can be enough for some customers. However, with many customers today, we need to go beyond these four fundamentals of supplier capability; innovation is a key requirement to help these customers meet their expectations for improved production efficiency, reduced working capital, reduced total acquisition cost.

The Role Technical Specialist, Motors

The main function of this position is to increase profitable sales and market share within the Siemens Electrical Motor product sector by introducing technical innovation to our Insite and large single site Customers which will enable them to realise improvements in production, efficiency and help reduce business costs.

In the first instance the Technical Specialist should identify the customers engineering needs and priorities relating to their company. The Technical Specialist will develop a tactical plan incorporating a pipeline of opportunities around the Siemens drive train products which, through Innovation and Best Practice, will help the customer achieve their objectives.

The Technical Specialist will collaborate with Brammer Sales Teams, both Key Accounts and Regional Accounts, to identify priorities, agree customer targets/ strategies, and produce progress reports effectively.

The Technical Specialist will work with Siemens to provide solutions based on individual customer requirements.

Requirements of the Role

The candidate should demonstrate a sound level of technical knowledge relating to

AC Motor Technology

DC Motor Technology

Motor Control Equipment

Standalone gearboxes

Geared Motor Units

The candidate will be responsible for and should be confident in the application of the above products across different industry sectors, and additionally be conversant with energy efficiency principles and calculations.

The ability to calculate and specify products based on speed, power and torque is essential. The successful candidate for this Technical Specialist roleshould have a clear understanding of the different types of motors and gearbox, the advantages of each in given applications, and be able to present a well structured justification for the selection of each. An appreciation of competitors and their products ranges will be required.

The candidate should be confident to communicate at all levels with the customer, both engineering and buying functions. The candidate should show a clear understanding of sales and territory management and have a proven track record in achieving sales/ profit growth.

The candidate will report directly to the UK Technical Manager and should be conversant with computer based reporting systems including Microsoft Office.
