FX Business Analyst
Overview
The Business Analyst role has a broad and challenging remit to support the development of the start-up The company's FX Brokerage business
Responsibilities
1. Gain in depth understanding of the core systems functionality and proposed operating model and client / product offering
2. Gather detailed requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, vendor meetings, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
3 . Proactively communicate and collaborate with developers and subject matter experts through the technical implementation and launch process
4. Develop detailed requirements specifications based on the existing high level strategies - using standard templates to be developed by the role and using plain English language in all documentation
5. Document all the workflows - inputs and outputs - together with business reporting
6. Manage the integrity of agreed and related documentation (eg: change request process around functional requirements impacting test scripts and data)
7. Develop testing materials
8. Perform, manage and report on testing results
9. Support communication and resolution of issues on a prioritised basis
10. Ensure issues and risks are tracked and escalated based upon impact to project
11. Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
Essentials
1. Able to build rapid and effective business relationships within, and externally to, The company
2. Represent The company and its products to clients and future third party vendors
3. Able to successfully lead and support multiple initiatives simultaneously
4. Work independently with all parties to define concepts and under direction of project managers and application developers
5. Commercially aware in order to make recommendations around changes and requirements
6. Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
7. Workshop facilitation for requirements definition and problem solving
8. Ability to decompose problems and requirements into structured deliverables
9. Support the integration of various client demands into the company's FX products
10. Preparation of fun ctional requirements documentation
11. Preparation of cross-functional process maps
12. Excellent communication and presentation skills - communicating complex business issues in a logical and structured way
13. Preparation of training material and user guides
14. 3 years experience in a leading financial services company
15. A thorough understanding of the front to back trading lifecycle
16. Delivery of training material (1 on 1 and workshop)
17. Knowledge of system development lifecycle
18. Knowledge of project management disciplines - scope, risks and issues management and status reporting
19. Flexibility - may require travel within UK and internationally
20. Understanding of Foreign Exchange
21. Understanding of Prime Brokerage
22. Understanding of the financial services regulatory environment
23. Understand the principles of workflow technology
Qualifications
* Graduate with 3 years financial services experience
* Minimum 1 year in a business analyst role
