Social Work has an exciting Area Manager position that has become available within Family Support Services we are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to work within a challenging yet rewarding role for our client based in South West London.
The job is initially temporary, with the view to move to permanent.
Duties May Include:
1.To effectively lead, manage and develop a multi-agency Children, Young People and Family Support Team, to respond quickly as soon as difficulties arise to safeguard and improve outcomes for children, young people and families within a specified locality
2.To safeguard the borough children and young people through the implementation of the Thresholds for CAF and Social Care Services, the robust assessment and management of risk and the provision of individual consultation and support to children services staff working within the Early Intervention Service and our partner agencies to identify vulnerable children early and to escalate children identified as children in need or at risk of significant harm to social care.
3.To line manage, develop and where appropriate supervise staff within the Children, Young People and Family Support Team, ensuring a consistent approach to continued professional development, performance management, capability and the management of sickness absence in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Borough and take remedial action where necessary.
4.To provide excellent customer care, including effective joint working and communication with families, referring partner agencies and stakeholders, investigating and responding to any complaints or feedback received from customers swiftly and effectively.
Please note that this is a qualified position so you will need a social work degree/masters or equivalent, be GSCC registered and have relevant experience for this role. Any applications received without meeting these minimum criteria will not be considered.
