Our client, a world class infrastructure business, is looking to add a Bid Writer to work in their Business Development department in their London office.

the successful candidate will be responsible for producing a wide range of work winning PQQ and bid materials addressing both public and private sector clients.

Requirements
Reporting to the Bid Production Manager, this is an important role within the Bid Support team which involves researching, writing, managing and facilitating bidding from expression of interest through to tender award.
You will be required to take the lead as an ambassador within company to ensure you have the relevant information, statistics and case studies from previously delivered contracts.
You will seek to understand the core business strategy and USPs so you can produce accurate, compelling and timely technical bid and supporting documents.
You will be bidding for the full range of FM services with contract values up to 250 million.


Accountabilities
To produce accurate, timely and work winning writing across the range of FM bidding opportunities
To ensure final submission documents are completed to the agreed quality, timescale and budget through effective project management of all contributing parties
To be a key contributor to the content of the FM Knowledge Centre keeping it fresh and aliv
To provide support to the wider Group businesses on a range or writing activities (as required)


Responsibilities
Create concise, compelling and client specific bid returns
Ensure all information presented to the client is consistent, timely and of the highest quality, inclusive of the content, printing, binding and uploading of the document
Research and write EOI, prequalification and tender responses which you are allocated
Support the BDM in achieving compliance for formal tender sign-off
Liaise with Business Development Managers during bid stages
To provide liaison and coordination of individual bids with other members of the team and the wider business
Lead the development of Executive Summaries as required
Ensure quality of PQQ and tender submissions for which you are responsible
Manage peer reviews and red line reviews as appropriate
Involvement in the preparation of tender launch presentations
Keep informed of new initiatives withinthebusinessand across other OpCo.
Work within the departmental quality procedures and processes
Research and write case studies, company capability documents etc.
Support the maintenance of the company Database including SME lists, data sheets, company and contract information, contract and project references and capability documents
Research and summarise articles and reports relevant to the FM industry
Proof reading of other peoples documents when required
Support with other OpCo bids as required, sometimes working out of their offices

The Individual
Skills and competencies

Essential
Minimum of 5 years track record of writing and submitting bid materials in an FM environment with a good proportion of these being invitations to tender up to a contract value of 10 million
Good standards of literacy and document formatting
Meticulous attention to detail, especially for proof reading and editing reports
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and PowerPoint.
Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
Able to maximise information and resources available and be happy to research information when required
Excellent interpersonal skills
Self motivated/ self reliant and able to work without constant direction and guidance
Ability to analyse and implement new procedures that improve the PQQ and bid win rates
Flexible attitude and approach to tackling a wide range of work and occasionally working outside standard hours.


Desirable
Track record of writing and submitting bid materials for contract values up to 250 million
Experience of using InDesign software
An additional preference for the ideal candidate would be experience of working on bid preparation / writing for MOD contracts
