People Development Manager - Maternity Leave Cover
We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join the Regions People Development team for the London East cluster, responsible for the Radisson Blu Hotel London Stansted Airport (base hotel), and the Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Harlow, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock.
People Development Manager - a strategic partner supporting the companys business objectives and growth strategy.Supporting the properties General Manager for all people-related matters, responsible for creating an environment that attracts and engages high performing individuals to deliver the properties service and the company people objectives.
As the People Development Manager for the area assigned you will provide leadership, direction and assist in an advisory capacity to the key stakeholders regarding people related matters, assist with change management, delivering appropriate and innovative solutions.
Key activities within this role include:
Employee Resourcing
Directs and co-ordinates all employee and labour relations activities within the hotel, to ensure compliance with the law, control of costs in line with property objectivesAnalyses hotel manpower requirements along with FC and makes recommendations on selection and development activities to meet manpower need.Ensures the properties adhere to internal recruiting and screening systems and procedures to attract qualified candidates for vacancies.Ensures properties follow the internal transfer policy and personally handle request both in and out of the region in-conjunction with the property General Manager.Promotes the Rezidor Hotel Group through partnerships, conferences, marketing & PR to attract employees and talents to the properties.Ensures key hotel functions have business driven job descriptions, job profiles & competencies.Compensation & Benefits
Ensure that the properties comply with the company policies and procedures and legislation with regards to employment contracts and other contractual mattersMonitors all HR reporting data, such as labour turnover, number of employees, sick leave data etc.Employee Relations
Assists the properties with preparation for the climate analysis, ensuring that each property produces an action plan based on the results and ensuring regular follow upDirects and co-ordinates responses to discipline and grievance matters ensuring adherence to company policy & legislation.Counsels property General Manager, Head of Departments & employees in an advisory capacity.Ensures the Climate Analysis is ordered, prepared and administered with the support of the Property Management Team.Assists with recommendations to Department Heads and General Manager how to increase satisfaction in identified areas. Ensure that hotel implements an action plan and regular review dates to ensure completion of objectives.Employee Development transfers & succession planning
Ensures proper evaluation of employee performance as identified through department managers.Together with Department Heads and the General Manager, identifies employees for development creating a development and succession plan, ensuring employees maximise their potential and preparing them for future opportunities within the Company.Ensures coordination of property training plan to support property business strategyEnsures property succession plan, taskforce and trainer in place and actively used and developed.Training
Ensure each property is equipped to deliver the three mandatory company trainings; orientation, Yes I Can and Responsible BusinessEnsure that there is at least 1 STAR trainer per cluster to deliver and manage this area of responsibilityEnsure that each hotel is supported through the On the Job Skills programme and that this training is documented and recordedSupports the property GM on recommendations for the Management Development Programme, ensuring adequate succession planning of successful candidatesEnsure the consistency and delivery of training as per the agreed training plan and schedule to achieve customer service and operational objectives.Supports the GM on recommendations for RezidorBusinessSchoolSupports Rezidor learning and development initiatives by promoting and proactively assisting the GM on recommending candidatesEnsures there is property system in place to ensure the property is compliant with legislative trainings.Assists the GM with property led HOD trainings i.e. employment law, MOD etc.Contributes to training initiatives in the UK region, by providing input on training needs and facilitating the design and delivery as instructed by the Regional HR Director UK.Monitors and encourages Centres of Excellence, ensuring proper use and documentationAdministration & General
Produces yearly cluster Business Plan for presentation to the Regional HR DirectorEnsures snapshot HR report produced in conjunction with property GM and Head of Departments and that this is amalgamated into cluster monthly HR report and sent to Regional HR Director monthlyEnsures system in place at each property to respond and proactively manage all administration and maintaining of employee files, ensuring that there is an adequate interface between HR/payroll according to UK Standard Operating Procedures and the Data Protection Act.ADP Freedom ensures accurate use of data through key personnel identified at property level.Gathers property departmental contributions for Hotline, ensuring that the property GM forwards to the appropriate person, therefore ensuring regular representation for the UK properties.Ensure the property administers special employee promotions (e.g. Host of the month/year programmes).Project Management assists Regional HR Director UK with key business projects in the region as directedSeeks advice from, and informs the Regional HR Director UK and the corporate Human Resources Department as relevant.Negotiates, implements and interprets union contracts as appropriate.Ensures compliance with corporate and hotel Human Resources guidelines, policies and procedures, as well as the UK Handbook, policies & procedures & labour law, rules and regulations.Stays current with the latest Human Resources development.Meets and exceeds expectations of employees by utilising leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximise employee productivity and satisfaction.Creates a positive work environment for all employees.Determines and communicates standards of performance to employees.Attends meetings and training as required by the host General Manager/Regional HR DirectorAccepts flexible work schedule and travel necessary for uninterrupted service to your key stakeholders.THE PERSON
