ABC Contract Services are currently looking for a Buyer to work for a Large Engineering Company in Bristol.

The Buyer will report to the Senior Buyer and will work with various stakeholders and suppliers whilst working as part of a team across various sites. This team is responsible for compliantly sourcing new products and services to support the new bid work programme.

Buyer Main duties

Ensure sourcing strategies are applied effectivelyPrepare and issue RFQ's and Invitations to TenderSourcing and pricing programme planningMarket researchSupplier engagementUnderstand and implement the contract requirements and the special conditionsPrepare bid evaluation reports, and in particular, carry out Commercial Evaluation of tenders

Negotiate keen competitive prices often against a background of demanding target savings and sole source suppliers

The candidate will be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of material supply and service contracts.Demonstrate negotiation/commercial skillsHave the ability to effectively communicate at all levels ensuring contracts are produced to a high level of quality, and in a timely mannerMust be capable of prioritising and multi tasking, and working to an agreed scheduleMust be self motivated and be able to work both individually or as part of a teamMust have a flexible approach to workload

Qualifications & Requirements

Hold or working towards Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply - Foundation/Practioner level or equivalent relevant qualificationMinimum GCSE in Mathematics and English at Grade C or higher.Appropriate knowledge in supply chain and procurement of goods and servicesBasic working knowledge in contract law.A good understanding of the Company business and objectives
