Centre of Excellence Chemist-Cleaner's division
CoE Technology leader has the responsibility to develop new technology/products in response to agreed requests from Customers, PLMgrs and Business Development.These developments should be in line with changes in legislation, improving product performance, lowering our COGs, simplifying our operations and above all meeting our strategic vision of customer intimacy. .
Strategic Objectives:
Fix and develop the European R&D technology strategybased on central control (virtual CoE) and peripheral executions Control the R&D Resources & budget to optimize the Return of Investments in new product development (Stage Gate process) Integrate the CoE R&D technology& innovation plans toGlobal Houghton technology programControl & Maintain the entire portfoliocomplaints to the Stewardship and HSSE recommendations
Main Job Responsibilities/Activities
To assure the technology development in respect ofHoughton rules To lead and coordinate the R&D technology group and activities base on European virtual Lab organization. (Fix priorities)To ensure the acquisition of technical information, and increase the team knowledge (internal and external sources)To align the CoE technology to the global Houghton procedures and project management Support the PMs inproduct portfolio simplificationand formula rationalizationTo manage and select the formulas component in order to reach the best balance cost / performances (COGS reduction) and support Supply chain in the Raw material selection and substitutions To be responsible for the R&D Business Case management Develop the European technology R&D plan in support of the agreed Product Management, Sector business strategies & Priorities.Produce the annual R&D technology plan in collaboration with PMs , to increase our competitor advantagesManage the Stage gate R&D activityto respect the customer & marketing dead linesSupply the Physical / Chemical product characteristics for the TDS/ MSDS development, TS& QC test methods. Approve all changes to formulations to maintain/ manage integrity and compliance.Provide clear blend instructions to plant operations to ensure correct manufacturing practices are followed.Identify third party technology provider for special product development (Technology suppliers)Visiting Customers to better understand the market needs (Minimum 5 x year)Participate to the External conferences, technology training, Supplier presentationto update and extend our technology knowledge and any other reasonable request as intructed by your line managerEducation, Training & Experience
Chemistry degree;Training in Product management and sales skills is a plus;Very good communication skills;Very good understanding of company processes, work flows and procedures;Project and time management skills;Attention to detail whilst being able to prioritise key issues;Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure;Able to use standard laboratory equipment;Able to work both independently and as part of a team;Developed analytical and problem solving skills;
