Description of the job
Analysis and validation of metallic, hybrid and composite structures for Fatigue and Damage Tolerance. Ensure safe operation of Airbus aircraft with respect to structural integretory and operational effectiveness.

Analyse and Validate composite & hybrid structures for Fatigue and Damage Tolerance according to validated Airbus methods. Ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant designprinciples, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines. Define, interpret and validate tests. Interface and communicate with relevant stakeholders. Provide relevant input to design for the creation of drawings for manufacture. Provide stress analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged structures. Perform monitoring/guidance/support of Sub-contarcting firms and RSP's that are providing structure analysis facilities for Airbus.

A vacancy has arisen for a F&DT Engineer for the Single Aisle Continuous Product Development team based at Filton site (Bristol), UK.

The successful applicant will report to the Engineering Team Leader and to the department Head of Fatigue. The role involves the analysis of aircraft structure using the standard fatigue and crack growth methods. Also to aid in the development of design solutions within the Single Aisle Wing Structures CPD team in Airbus UK. The role will require focus upon deliverables and
timescales to support our external and internal customers.
Tasks & accountabilities
As the successful candidate your principle activities will include:-
Support F&DT certification activities.
Support to Production.
Support to Certification / Airworthiness activities.
Support to/Attend the Maintenance Review Board (MRB).
Support Chief Engineers Office in Product Development Tasks.
Assist the Chief of F&DT in team technical development.
Assist the ETL in the planning and control of department deliverables.

Your skills
Required skills
As the successful candidate, you will need:
- University Engineering Degree : Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
- Good communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving;
- Strong English, both verbal and written;
-Good communication and conflict management skills, teamwork and networking abilities in a transnational environment.
-Use of FE Modelling and in-hand calculations and structural analysis tools.
- Relevant industry experience preferred.
