As a brand, Dr Martens are right up there with the biggest brand icons in history. On 1st April 1960, a legend was born when the first pair of Dr Martens rolled off the production line with the famous yellow stitching and air cushioned sole. We've come a long way since then and have recently been expanding our retail portfolio: there are now stores in locations such as London, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Retail Assistant Manager for our new Birmingham Store. The ideal candidate will be as passionate about our brand as they are about managing and motivating internal teams to achieve store targets and objectives.

The Assistant Manager aids the Retail Store Manager in the efficient and cost-effective operation of the store. As part of the management team, this position supports the management and development of a team of Sales Assistants. This team will provide exceptional customer service, promoting and selling Dr Martens products in order to achieve sales targets and store objectives.

Excellent communication skills are essential to support the management and reporting requirements of the store. Applicants should be IT literate (e.g. Word and Excel) and possess a good commercial awareness of the retail environment.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Team Leader or Supervisor within the fashion or footwear industry and have a passion for the Dr Martens brand.

Our new Birmingham store is easily commutable from locations such as Duddeston, Bordesley, Smethwick, Handsworth Wood, West Bromwich, Oldbury, Perry Common, Solihull, Halesowen and Dudley.

This is a fixed term contract of 12 months.
