Description of the job
Development of innovative design solutions answering complex challengesin a multifuctional context using all possible metalic and fiber metallaminate options.
Design of metal components and assemblies that are optimized in terms ofweight, cost and production/assembly while highest savety of the AC isassured using apropriate Design tools. Assessing the various designsolutions under all aspects.
Tasks
Role Description:
The requirement is for Composite/Metallic Design Engineers to work in and depending on experience lead Filton Design teams
Work as part of a multidisciplinary design team deployed onto one of the current Airbus programmes
To create design solutions for a whole range of tasks from initial concept design through to supporting A/C in service
Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other capability improvements.
Liaise with Airbus partners to establish optimum integrated design solutions
Provide technical leadership and approval for new participants; supply base and other sub-contracted work.
When required, undertake appropriate, associated project management tasks.
Working in a fully 3D digital environment
Your skills
Experience and Qualifications
Proven experience within a Design environment preferably within the Aerospace industry using a broad range of hand and computer based design tools
The ability to develop and coach less experienced design engineers
Sound Engineering knowledge of Manufacturing and Design techniques, procedures and practices
Team Leaders with high regard for both internal and external customers, whilst maintaining Aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle.
Ability to work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidiscipline team
Aeronautical Degree or equivalent
Chartered Engineer or equivalent
Signatory Level or capability within 3 months
Work Experience
Confirmed (3+ to 5 years of experience)
