An excellent opportunity has arisen at Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK for an Operations Manager to join the team in Avonmouth. The purpose of the role is to manage and have operational responsibility for the Asda Tray Wash operation on behalf of NDL, and resources to achieve the financial, operational and customer service objectives on an open book basis

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:
Management of and input into the site budget/headcount within the parameters set by the Account Director.
Selection and recruitment of Colleagues on site, as appropriate.
Conduct discipline and grievance hearings in line with Company policy and procedures and national union agreement.
Maintain and update staff rotas to comply with legislation and site requirements
Management of on site contractors
Individual performance management and development of direct reports
Managing the activities and resources of the operation to achieve the financial, operational and customer service objectives within budget targets set on an open book accounting basis
Planning and deployment of assets and people to handle the work volume throughputs, including peak volumes within budget and targets set.
Maintenance of accurate management information and reporting/systems for the customer and company purposes.
Manage the productivity and cost elements to achieve the KPI objectives for the site, including the continued efficiency and performance improvements.
Liaise with the customer on a regular basis and attend other sites/meetings as appropriate
Set standards of conduct and performance, monitor employee progress and take appropriate action to ensure employees reach the required standards.
Operation of the absence management system to ensure accurate absence data is recorded and kept and appropriate action is taken when trigger points are reached.
Ensure site security systems are maintained and the security of Company premises/equipment at all time.
Communicate information, both upwards to Account Director and senior management and if appropriate and necessary across functions and to colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have:
Experience of working within a warehouse/logistics/production environment
Ability to communicate at all levels and maintain a customer focus
Knowledge of Health and Safety compliance
High levels of numeracy, accuracy and literacy
Organised/Effective Planning approach to work
Decision Making skills
An ability to effectively handle conflict situations
An ability to set standards of conduct and performance
Strong PC ability including excellent Excel skills
Conscientious and results orientated
