About the role

The White Goods Buyer is responsible for buying and trading washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges, freezers, and other large domestic appliances for both instore and online ranges. The White Goods Buyer works closely with a small team of Merchandise Planners (who work on rebuys, stock flow and availability) and also has a Trading Assistant to manage, coach & develop. This role sits in Asda's Home and Leisure trading team and as such is focused on a massive growth programme that involves new ranges and new selling formats.

The ins and outs

Development of a White Goods category strategy based on customer and market insight.

Product and packaging sourcing and development - this may involve sourcing from overseas. Development of instore and online ranges, complete with display and point of sale.

Negotiation of cost prices and support packages from suppliers.

Supplier development and management.

Planning and implementation of a Sell for Less' plan, including an offshelf promotional programme.< /p>

Planning and implementation of a marketing plan.

Management (alongside Merchandise Planning) of the White Goods P&L.

Managing (alongside Merchandise Planning) inbound and instock (availability).

What youll need
