Thales are recruiting for a Junior Project Accountant to join their Transportation Systems Domain (DTS) Finance Services team.

The Junior Project Accountant will provide assistance to the Financial Controllers and Managers supporting the DTS Services team, providing valuable management accounting information to the senior project managers and Group Managers within the Domains projects.

Key Responsibilities
To assist the Financial Controllers and Managers in providing timely, accurate and meaningful management accounting and ad-hoc information to the Project Managers and Group Managers in DTS Services.
To assist in ensuring month end reporting deadlines are met for financial and project reporting.
To assist the DTS Services finance team ensuring correct and agreed accounting procedures are followed for all projects within their responsibility.
To assist in the reporting ensuring Oracle Financials accurately reflects baseline budgets, actual and forecast costs on DTS Services projects.
To ensure invoicing schedules are up-to-date and invoices are raised as per contract to maximise cash benefits.
Support the DTS Services finance team on ad-hoc projects and tasks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

Key Skills and Experience
Degree qualified in an Accounting or Finance discipline with a sound comprehension of basic accounting practices
Currently undertaking professional qualifications would be an advantage
Experience workin g within a Project Accounting environment is highly desirable
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce detailed and accurate financial reports to tight timescales
An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Enthusiastic, self motivated person with excellent communication skills
