The organisation was recently restructured to differentiate its Group/head office functions from those of each local business unit. This role is positioned in the UK business unit leading the sales initiatives for IPD s training services.
The purpose of the job
IPD is looking for a Business Development Executive to grow on IPDs well established name in the property industry and promote its services. This will include the public training courses and bespoke in-company training alongside any technical workshops that are developed. IPD has an extensive bank of contacts and the candidate will be expected to capitalise on established contacts as well as extend the list of contacts known to IPD globally. IPDs sales channels include use of IPD membership database which enables promotion of IPD services to clients and can be sold in its own right. IPDs client base comprises of property companies, fund houses, pension funds, banks and consultants to the property industry.

Key responsibilities
Responsible for the sale of IPD training to meet the annual budgetMake sure each the pu blic training courses reaches capacity. This will involve working closely with the Events team who organise and run IPD training.Analyse courses as they are run and make sure IPD are delivering what the target audience requirePromote IPDs range of products that are applicable to the client contacts madeBuild a pipeline of potential clientsOrganise meetings with potential bespoke training clients, for example, lawyers and trusteesBuild and develop a network of contacts within the property industryRepresent IPD at industry functions and promote the brand of IPDPromote additional IPD services as required.Qualifications/Technical Knowledge

Graduate caliberAt least 2 years experience in consultative sales and account management gained within the professional services sectorProven ability to work independently a s well as in a teamExcellent communication skills, telephone, face to face and writtenGood organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work loadsEvidence of leadership and influencing skills both with clients and internally within the businessProactive, dynamic and positive attitude to learning and fulfilling the role to a high standard
