Location: Gillingham , Kent Salary: 17 per hour Date posted: 01/05/2012 16:04 Job type:Temporary Company: ABC Contact: Dave Brewer Ref: Totaljobs/ELES9 Job ID: 53378717We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor (Electrical Bias) for our client, who are an established organisation who work on a large, static site in the Gillingham area. The main purpose of this role will be to provide day to day supervison of permanently employed maintenance staff and subcontractors. You will be required to oversee the implementation of the correct methods of working practive, and ensuring that all Health & Safety legislation is adhered to.
The ideal candidate will:
(a) Be qualified to HNC/BTech or at least City and Guilds in Electrical Engineering and to have completed an electrical apprenticeship, or possess an acceptable qualification of an equivalent or higher standard with significant relevant experience.
(b) Be IEE 17th Edition C&G 2382 registered.
(c) Be proficient in the use of a P.C. and have prior knowledge MS Office
(d) Have analytical and judgemental skill enabling problem solving and fault finding.
(e) Prior Supervisory experience
(f) Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations C&G 2391-10
(g) Have prior knowledge of automated Building Management Systems / SCARDA system.
The main duties:
(1) Efficiently and effectively organising resources, including labour, materials and transportation (including supply, deployment and security).
(2) Being responsible for satisfactory timekeeping, of conduct and maintaining standards of discipline, grievance and discipline investigation, on call rota, sickness management and return to work interviews for all staff within the maintenance teams.
(3) Promoting co-operation and versatility with staff, contractors and suppliers.
(4) Ensuring acceptable standards of productivity and workmanship in the execution of programmed works.
(5) Supervising maintenance staff. The ability to analyse, trouble-shoot, fault find and provide technical assistance and assist technicians if required. Supervision of minor project works.
(6) To participate fully in the operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance Scheme and assist in its continued development by advising staff of any changes to the status of existing plant and equipment services.
(7) To provide an economical and efficient maintenance operation, together with adequate cover at all times. Participate collectively with other Maintenance Managers and Supervisors to provide an on-call rota for ensuring the provision of 'out of hours' maintenance service and authorising call out of maintenance technicians and/or contractors.
(8) Conduct such audits, surveying, risk assessments, record keeping and related tasks as may be required in support of the Deputy Operations Manager.
The core hours of work will be 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. This role will initially be for up to 6 months.
