We are recuiting an accounts apprentice to work for one our busyclients in the Dudley area and to complete AAT levels 2,3 and 4 in our academy in Birmingham city centre.

As an accounts apprentice youwill report to the practice manager and senior accountancy staff you will be providingaccounting and administrative support. Your responsibilities will include:

* Performing general office administration tasks, photocopying, and data entry, typing letters and answering telephone calls, greeting clients, booking in records and maintaining data lists.

* Data input using accountancy software such as sage.

* Preparing client file set ups and maintain records and documentation

* Using Excel to prepare working papers and reconcile accounting records.

* Provide support of other team members by assisting in their roles as accountants

* Enter journals and general entries ( e.g. supplier details, procurement transactions, petty cash transactions manual expense claims into various systems.

* Assist with reconciliations by checking that documents are correctly recorded

The training aspect of the apprenticeship will be delivered by Accounting Academy Partnership (AAP) in Birmingham City Centre. Candidates will work towards the highly respected Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualifications at levels 2 (GCSE level), level 3 (A2 level) and level 4 (the first year of a degree). The apprenticeship will last for2 years and 8 weeks.

Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate to a wide variety of audiences. It is pivotal that candidates are enthusiastic and aspire to become a qualified accountant. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 A-C grades at GCSE level including maths and english at grade B or higherand at least 2 A-Levels; ideally in maths, economics or finance. Candidates should not have any AAT qualifications (level 2 or higher) or hold a degree. Candidates must be able to travel to both Birmingham and Dudley.
