Opportunity

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a visionary and dynamic Finance Director. You will bring your commercial knowledge and strategic experience to the Senior Management Team and play an integral role in the development of the business for the future.

The Versapak Group is a small (c. 5m) family-owned group of companies with over 100 employees and big ambitions. The vision for the future of the Group is to increase turnover rapidly over the next three to five years. We will do this through our three European subsidiaries, an increase in Export activity and some exciting new product launches. You will join the Management Team and help shape and contribute to these exciting plans.

Initially, the majority of the Group Financial Directors time will be geared around ensuring the financial planning and the accounts function in the UK is effective. In short order, overseeing the wider Groups financial affairs will contribute to around 25 of the role.

The Group Financial Director role will involve:

Preparation of monthly commercial information to the board

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts for the five businesses in the group

Preparation and review of annual and periodic budgets and forecasts

Revenue recognition and profit analysis

Balance sheet management

Management of working capital and cash flow forecasting

Statutory reporting / HMRC reporting

Annual statutory accounts preparation and management of audit process

Financial systems management (Microsoft Dynamics NAV formerly Navision)

Management of payrolls and ledgers across the UK companies

Ad hoc duties as required

Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, with a good mix of both financial and management accounting experience. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can get involved with the detail where necessary but can also take a more strategic and commercial overview.

You will have experience of supporting non-finance teams and must be able to translate numbers in to meaningful and useful business information. Experience of working in manufacturing would be useful but is not a pre-requisite.

The successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified with a proven track record of managing a team, process improvement and strong financial controls. You will also have advanced systems skills including Excel. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) would be desirable but not essential.

The role will be based at our Head Office in Erith, Kent.Some travel to Romania and Germany will be required.
