Job Summary

Bupa Health and Wellbeing are seeking a highly numerate Pricing Delivery Analyst, based in Salford Quays, to work across the product range including, Corporate PMI, Corporate Dental, Wellness and Affinity groups. The Pricing Delivery Analyst will work on their own initiative and will be comfortable with making evidence-based challenges. They will interpret requirements of individual groups, and calculate relevant pricing options, applying any relevant analysis to individual groups prices. It is essential that the analyst can present and explain prices in a clear and concise manner to customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing the future-period subscriptions of each group within PMI, Dental, Wellness and Affinity.Analysing and interpreting historic claims experience to enable accurate forecasting of future claiming patterns.Analysing and interpreting any external information which may impact on price.Performing analysis to calculate group-specific loadings and discounts dependent upon a clients risk profile.Interpreting changes to membership or benefit profiles that may influence future risk trends.Determining margins to cover direct and indirect costs, with an understanding of how these will fare in the marketplace.Pricing groups in accordance with known manual workarounds and flagging new workarounds where appropriate.Making commercial decisions within an agreed framework and adhering to the published commercial escalation process. Understanding the impact each decision has upon the continued financial health of each book.Understanding the strategic context underpinning each client and incorporating this thinking within pricing approach.Highlighting any external information that may be required by the Customer Insight team.Internally negotiate and justify pricing decisions to key stakeholders, including Account Managers, Commercial Managers and the PGG.Maintaining relationships with cross-functional internal functions involved in the wider process, including the CVU, Swift Consultancy team, CCRMT and Wellness Billing.



Specific SkillsGraduate calibre. Background in mathematics, statistics or operational research. Experience of pricing rated groups. Intermediate to advanced level in Excel. Experience of working with data analysis tools such as SAS or SPSS is desirable. Experience owning relationships with stakeholders. Track record of influencing / challenging them. Experience of understanding and interpreting data and risk trends. Ability to forecast changing trends at individual group level. Ability to find pricing solutions / options for individual groups. Capability to manage own time and workload. Seeing things from a technical / practical angle and exploring new directions. Strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to work well as part of a wider team.
